Thieving
Pick pockets in the Thieves' Guild in the far north-east of the Gloam, or out in the world: monsters' pockets and a lockbox on most maps. Vance the Fence sells the Guild's permit and the lockpicks. In the Guild you keep picking by yourself: after a lift you move on to the next free mark in the room, and a catch stops you. The top room holds the Quartermaster (75), the Moneylender (82), the Ringleader (90), the Grand Larcenist (97) and the Phantom (99); each pays more an hour than the marks below it once you're a few levels past it. At 99, Odile the Clerk in that room sells the Thief's cape: a catch doesn't break your clean run, and its stun is half as long.
Read the Thieving guide — how to actually get going with it, and what to watch out for.
