Anomalies and pet artifacts

About 1.7% of dropped charts are cracked: an Anomaly, shown in purple. At your 50th kill, the map's boss walks out with special powers, and beating it pays cores and pet artifacts.

How it works

It plays like a chart until your 50th kill. Then the map's boss walks out, anomalous, with one to three powers (+35% health each). A map without a boss borrows one, brought down to its level.

What it pays

Everyone in the run gets Anomaly cores (one per power), a pet artifact (now and then the boss's own unique), the boss's drops again for each power, a rolled piece, one of the rare tools, and a chart a tier up. Cores open the Compass's keystones and can wipe it.

Pet artifacts

Small rolled items for your pet: a Collar works in a run (a heal, the first hit softened, a share of every hit taken), a Tag lifts your pet's own bonus inside its caps, and a Bell helps with charts and Anomalies.

  1. Walk a pet: it opens one slot at pet level 10, two at 30, three at 50.
  2. Open the Workbench (O), go to the Artifacts tab, and click one in your bag to fit it.
  3. They're fitted on you, so they work through whichever pet is at your heel.
