Fishing
Catch fish with a rod, then cook them into food. It's one of the easiest skills to train while you do something else.

Getting started
- Put a fishing rod in your weapon slot (not your bag).
- Click a fishing spot. The first one is in the Yard, at Fishing 1.
- You keep fishing until you walk away, or until you've been idle for three minutes.
- Cook what you catch. Raw fish doesn't heal you, and Bom won't buy it.
Where to fish
Each spot needs a Fishing level and a rod at least as good as the one listed.

How it works
- Most spots have two fish. The second one needs a higher level. Once you can catch it, it shows up about a third of the time.
- Not every cast gets a bite. At a spot's own level, about 42% do. Every level above it helps, up to 90% thirty levels later. Your first 25 levels bite a little less. Right-click a spot to see your chance.
- Spots run out. A spot gives 60 to 140 catches, then goes quiet for 20 to 40 seconds. Move to another spot or wait.
- A better rod is faster and a little luckier. Each grade up cuts 8% off the time between casts, and each grade above what the spot needs adds 1% to your chance (up to 2%). See Tools.
Going further
- Two fish are behind Agility shortcuts. The cove grouper is in the Smugglers' Cove pool (Fishing 85; get in with Agility 80, on Skull Isle). The under-ice pike is under the ice in the Glacier Vault (Fishing 95; Agility 90, on the Frozen Reach's heights). Once you're in, your party can follow you for ten minutes.
- The Leviathan eel (Fishing 99) is in the deep pool on the Frozen Reach's heights. It's cold up there: wear a Frost ward or eat Ember bread first.
- The Angler's cape: at Fishing 99, Salty Meg, on the Boardwalk sells it for 99,000 tickets. Fish bite 10% more often, and 20% of catches land two.
Tips
- Cooking roughly doubles what a fish is worth, and it's the only way to make it heal. See Cooking.
