Necromancy
A support skill. Wake the souls of monsters as companions that heal you or boost you, bury bones for XP, and travel by soul portals.
Read the Necromancy guide — how to actually get going with it, and what to watch out for.

How it works
- Get a soul jar. Monsters drop one 0.04% of the time (bosses 1%, from Necromancy 60).
- Put it on a Soul Shelf in the Graveyard. The shelf holds 4 jars at level 1, plus one every 20 levels.
- Give it what it wants (see "The souls" below). One click takes it from your bag or bank. You get XP for each hand-in.
- It wakes up as your companion, and you get the rest of the XP.
You also get Necromancy XP from burying things, making gear at the Ossuary, and using soul portals.
Burying
- Where: the Graveyard, through its gate in the Gloam (by the old graves).
- How: have something buryable in your bag and click a grave. You bury one every 1.8 seconds, best first. Walk away to stop.
- Deeper graves need a higher level but give more XP (see the table).
- Bonus finds: a soul jar 0.05% of the time, bone dust or a grave flower 3%.
- By the gate: the Soul Shelves, the Ossuary, and a soul portal (Necromancy 35).

The souls
Companions
- They follow you and never fight.
- Healer: heals 1% of your health every 6 seconds in a fight (at most 10% a minute).
- Buffer: gives you and your party within 6 tiles a 4% bonus.
- They level up by doing their job, plus 12% of your Necromancy XP. They can't pass your Necromancy level.
- Stars: waking the same soul again adds a star (up to 5).
- How many: one at a time. Two from Necromancy 80 (costs 50,000 tickets and needs Breeding 70 and Hitpoints 80).
- If you die it goes down too. It's back after 20 minutes, or pay 5,000 tickets at the shelf.
- They can wear Necromancy gear. They never go into the Yard.
Soul portals
- An arch of bones on every map.
- Step into it to travel to any portal your level has opened (table below).
- 30 seconds between trips.
