Alchemy

Dig sand in the Golden Sands, melt it into vials at the cauldron under the temple colonnade, and brew the vials with crops, mushrooms and monster drops into potions, salves and ink. A potion is a drink that buffs you outside; a salve heals on the spot. Every batch can spoil, less often as you climb.

Read the Alchemy: sand into potions guide — how to actually get going with it, and what to watch out for.

Blade oils. Sun oil (Alchemy 45), Ember oil (Alchemy 50), Frost oil (Alchemy 55), Storm oil (Alchemy 60), Sun Olive Oil (Alchemy 35), Stardust Polish (the Star Tent): rub one on a blade and your melee hits carry it. Blade oils.
